GASTROENTEROLOGY, HEPATOLOGY AND OBESITY MEDICINE

Dr. Seyedehsan (“Ehsan”) Navabi is a former Director of both the Inflammatory Bowel disease and Gastrointestinal Motility Disorders at the Rutgers New Jersey Medical School where he served as Assistant Professor of Gastroenterology. 

He obtained his medical degree from Tabriz University of Medical Sciences in Iran and completed both his Internal Medicine residency and Gastroenterology/Hepatology Fellowship at Pennsylvania State University.  He is board certified in gastroenterology, obesity medicine and internal medicine.

As an Assistant Professor of Gastroenterology at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, he trained fellows and had extensive experience managing a wide range of complex disorders related to esophagus, stomach, small bowel, colon, liver and pancreas in a tertiary care setting.

He has excellent endoscopic skills with an Adenoma detection rate which has been consistently well above the national standards and performs endoscopic mucosal resection of large polyps which remains primarily done in the academic setting and less so in the community practice setting.

He has a passion managing challenging disorders within inflammatory bowel disease and gastrointestinal motility and routinely tackles the complexities of difficult to treat GERD and functional disorders of both the upper and lower gi tract, Achalasia and Eosinophilic Esophagitis.  He is an expert in the use of biologics in IBD and in performing motility studies such as Ph Studies, including BRAVO and PH/Impedance, Esophageal Manometry, EndoFlip and Anorectal Manometry.

Dr. Navabi continues to enhance his medical knowledge and continues to pursue scientific research.  He has contributed numerous publications in the field of IBD and routinely presented at national and international IBD conferences.  He remains a peer reviewer for multiple prestigious gastroenterology journals.
