Kamshad Raiszadeh, MD
Orthopaedic Surgery
Dr. Kamshad Raiszadeh is a board-certified orthopedic spinal surgeon specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of degenerative and select traumatic spine conditions. He graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, earned his medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco, completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of California, Davis Medical Center, and pursued fellowship training in spine surgery at the Hospital for Joint Diseases/NYU in New York City.
Dr. Raiszadeh focuses on minimally invasive spinal surgery and motion-preserving techniques such as cervical and lumbar disc replacement. He treats a broad spectrum of spinal disorders, including cervical and lumbar disc herniations, spinal stenosis, spondylolisthesis, and other degenerative spine conditions. With extensive expertise in both operative and nonoperative care, he emphasizes maximizing the body’s natural healing potential and frequently performs his own diagnostic and therapeutic lumbar injections to isolate and relieve pain generators—often helping patients avoid surgery altogether.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Raiszadeh has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and presented his findings at national spine and orthopedic conferences. He collaborated with researchers at UC San Diego on a multiyear NIH-funded project advancing spine care outcomes. He is the author of Take Back Control, a patient-focused book with more than 50,000 copies distributed, aimed at helping individuals avoid unnecessary spinal surgery through education and evidence-based strategies.
Dr. Raiszadeh also holds multiple patents in nonoperative devices designed to prevent pain and improve function, as well as in innovative orthopedic implant technologies. He is the Founder and Chief Medical Officer of SpineZone and Livara—national, holistic programs that have helped hundreds of thousands of patients strengthen their bodies, improve long-term spine health, and avoid unnecessary surgery.
Outside of medicine, he enjoys playing tennis, padel, and pickleball, and staying active. He also founded a nonprofit spinal health foundation dedicated to improving posture education for children and expanding access to essential spine care.
