John Locke, MD

ORTHOPAEDIC SURGERY

Dr. John Locke earned his medical degree from the nation’s military medical school, Uniformed Services University in Bethesda, Maryland. Following graduation, he completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Stanford University. He then completed a fellowship in arthroscopic surgery and sports medicine at the University of California, San Diego. Dr. Locke is board certified in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine

Dr. Locke spent 20 years in Navy Medicine, rising to the rank of Captain. In addition to Maryland, the U.S. Navy took him to Virginia, Florida, Texas, Hawaii, Okinawa, Guam, Kuwait, Germany and most recently, Camp Pendleton, California. While overseas, he supported Operation Enduring Freedom and mobilized medical support for the president of the United States.

Currently, Dr. Locke works with patients to get them on the road to recovery quickly and safely.

This often involves small incisions, minimally invasive techniques, and rapid rehabilitation. Most procedures can be done as outpatients with minimal time lost. He treats various orthopedic conditions, including fractures, tendon and ligament injuries, knee replacement, ACL and meniscus tears, shoulder instability and rotator cuff tears, carpal tunnel syndrome and trigger finger.

Dr. Locke is board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons with added qualification in sports medicine. He is part of the core faculty of the UHS southern California Residency program, teaching numerous medical residents. Additionally, he is a qualified medical examiner with the state of California and treats work-related injuries and personal injuries. Dr. Locke enjoys tennis, hiking, church, and spending time with family and friends outside of work.
