Joanna E. Adamczak, MD, FACOG
Maternal Fetal Medicine
Dr. Joanna Adamczak has been practicing high-risk obstetrics/ MFM at Sharp Hospital for 15 years and is proud to be joining United Medical Doctors as a maternal-fetal medicine specialist. Her areas of interest include caring for women with cardiac disease, organ transplants, autoimmune disorders, and cancer. Additionally, she focuses on preterm birth prevention, chorionic villus sampling, management of complex high-risk pregnancies, multiple gestations, in vitro fertilization pregnancies, and the prevention of recurrent adverse pregnancy outcomes.
She attended St. George’s University for medical school and completed her fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. A San Diego Magazine Top Doctor, she served as Chief of the department of OB/GYN for 5 years at Sharp Mary Birch, and in 2020 became Chief Medical Officer at Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women & Newborns.
She is fluent in Polish, conversational in Spanish and in her spare time enjoys spending time outdoors with her children. She has been featured in multiple media presentations, and news outlets including KUSI, Fox 5, and NBC.
