Bhavana Akotia, a Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C), earned her Bachelor of Science in Physician Assistant studies at Charles R. Drew University in 2001. Previously, she had obtained a Bachelor of Biology from Augusta State University in Augusta, Georgia, in 1997. She is certified as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants and licensed by the Medical Board of California.

Before joining the United Gastroenterologists team alongside Dr. Ehsan Navabi and Dr. John Lah in September 2023, Bhavana worked in Gastroenterology for 11 years at Christus Trinity Clinic in Tyler, Texas. Gastroenterology has always been her passion for over 20 years.

Bhavana lives in Yorba Linda and enjoys spending her free time with her husband and daughter, traveling, volunteering, and cooking.
