After completion of the Ph.D. program at John’s Hopkins University in Biochemistry and Genetics in 1980, Dr. Babaknia attended medical school and earned his medical degree in 1984. Dr. Babaknia completed his Internship and Residency program in Internal Medicine in1987 followed by fellowship training for two years in Gastroenterology and Hepatology from Providence Hospital in 1989 in Detroit, Michigan.

Dr. Babaknia has extensive experience for colon cancer screening and management of Peptic Ulcer Disease, Inflammatory Bowel Diseases such as Ulcerative Colitis, Crohn’s Disease, and Irritable Bowel Disease.

Dr. Babaknia is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology and has performed over 50,000 Colonoscopies and Endoscopies in the last 30 years.
