Phuong Pham, MD

PLASTIC SURGERY

Dr. Phuong Pham grew up in Southern California and is extremely grateful for the opportunity to serve the community he calls home. Inspired to help others, Dr. Pham knew at a young age he wanted to pursue a career in medicine. After finishing his undergraduate study at the University of California, Irvine (UCI), Dr. Pham went on to medical school at the highly ranked UCLA School of Medicine. It was during his medical school years that Dr. Pham discovered his passion for plastic surgery.

Dr. Pham went on to complete a full 5-year general surgery residency at Marshall University, where he served as the chief resident. Recognizing that plastic surgery requires in-depth knowledge of wound healing for optimal aesthetic outcomes and patient satisfaction, Dr. Pham spent a year immersed in clinical research examining the role of stem cells in wound healing at the Medical College of Georgia.

He then went on to complete his Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery residency at the Medical College of Georgia. During his residency, Dr. Pham also served as chief administrative resident where he developed and administered the didactic curriculum for the residency program. In his final year of training, Dr. Pham was selected to spend two months at the Cleveland Clinic under the tutelage of the world-renowned plastic surgeon, Dr. James Zins, where he further enhanced his surgical techniques in cosmetic procedures of the face, breast, and body. To further hone his surgical skills and to provide the latest techniques with the best outcomes for his patients, Dr. Pham elected to spend another 6 months in an Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Fellowship at the Plastic Surgery Center in Sacramento, CA.

Dr. Pham believes in treating his patients as if they were his own family, with utmost respect and warmth. Surgery, he believes, is a one-day event for the surgeon, but it is often a lifetime event for the patient. That is why he believes that it is imperative for a surgeon to have extensive training not only to obtain excellent results, but to put patient safety above all else.
In his personal time, Dr. Pham enjoys playing the piano, fishing, cooking, and improving his photography skills. His lifelong dream is to be able to participate in a medical mission at least once a year where he can use his skills and knowledge to help those who are less fortunate.
