Shamyne graduated from La Sierra University with a Bachelor Degree in Biology in 2004. After graduation she worked as a medical research technician at the Loma Linda Veteran Affairs hospital. From there she went on to obtain a Bachelors of Nursing at Loma Linda University.

Shamyne was honored by the Loma Linda University School of Nursing when she was asked to be the graduate speaker for the commencement ceremony. In 2011, Shamyne completed her Master Degree in Nursing at Loma Linda University as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She became nationally certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners in 2011.

After graduation and certification, Shamyne began working in internal medicine and family practice then joined United Gastroenterologists, as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2013.
