Dr. Hakham was recruited to Focus Medical Imaging from the Department of Vascular & Interventional Radiology at Loma Linda University. Dr. Hakham did his undergraduate studies at UCLA and graduated with a Summa Cum Laude Honors in Psychobiology. He attended medical school at Western University Health, and completed his radiology residency at Tufts University Medical Center. He then completed a vigorous year of subspecialty fellowship training in Vascular & Interventional Radiology at Loma Linda University.

His clinical expertise includes the evaluation and management of patients with a wide array of disease types such as uterine fibroids, peripheral vascular disease, cancer (lung, liver, renal, and metastatic), portal hypertension, varicoceles, palliative/pain management, and other vascular conditions. He specializes in minimally invasive image-guided procedures including complex biopsies, vascular access, tumor embolization and ablation, vascular atherectomy, angioplasty and stenting, transjugular intrahepatic portovenous stenting (TIPS), retrograde gastrovariceal embolization, thrombectomy, biliary decompression, gastrostomy tube placement, and dialysis access interventions, among others. His research interests are in the evaluation of effectiveness of SIRT Y-90 radioembolization therapy in treatment of primary and metastatic hepatic malignancies.

Dr. Hakham is a strong advocate for the transformation of Interventional Radiology as a clinical specialty and runs an established outpatient clinic for all his patients requiring advanced minimally-invasive interventional procedures. Dr. Hakhamhas special interests in vascular and oncologic disease outreach and education. He is also heavily involved in practice building and growth promotion, and marketing.

Dr. Hakham is board certified by the American Board of Radiology with a certificate of added qualification (CAQ) in Vascular and Interventional Radiology. He is also an active member of the Society of Interventional Radiology, Radiological Society of North America, and the American College of Radiology.
