Dr. Melissa L. Westermann has practiced high-risk obstetrics/ MFM at Sharp Hospital for 6 years and is
proud to be joining United Medical Doctors as a maternal-fetal medicine obstetrician-gynecologist. Dr.
Westermann earned her medical degree from the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine. She
completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology, as well as a fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine,
at the UC Irvine Medical Center and its affiliated hospitals.
Her areas of clinical focus include detection of fetal conditions via ultrasound and the management of
medical complications during pregnancy, such as heart disease, hypertension and renal disease.
