Laura Nieves, MD, MPH, FACP

INTERNAL MEDICINE

Dr. Nieves obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. She then pursued her medical degree and a Masters in Public Health (MPH) from the Ponce School of Medicine. Dr. Nieves completed residency training at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine where she was awarded the Primary Care Expansion Grant.

After graduation, she remained on faculty at the University of Connecticut serving as an assistant professor of medicine before entering private practice in Virginia. Prior to joining United Medical Doctors, Dr. Nieves worked in private practice in Corona, CA where she was a site director and assistant professor of medicine for the Riverside Community Hospital Internal Medicine Residency Program.

Dr. Nieves is board certified in Internal Medicine and has been distinguished as a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP). She was also selected to the city of Corona’s “Top 40 Under 40 Award.”

In her free time she enjoys traveling, decorating, gardening and spending time with her husband and two daughters.  She is also fluent in Spanish.
