Kristina Seeger, MD
Dr. Kristina Seeger earned her medical degree from Florida State University. Following graduation, she completed her internal medicine residency training at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. She subsequently completed her Gastroenterology fellowship training at Scripps Green Hospital in La Jolla, California.
Dr. Seeger is an active researcher, authoring and presenting work on a wide variety of gastrointestinal topics. For her work, she has earned a Presidential Award by the American College of Gastroenterology, as well as a Poster of Distinction by the Collaborative Group of the Americas on Inherited Colorectal Cancer. During her internal medicine training, she received the Mayo Clinic Research Award in addition to receiving recognition for quality improvement by the Mayo Clinic Quality Review Board for her work on reducing length of hospital stay. Her most recent focus has been on early onset colorectal cancer in the young population.
Dr. Seeger makes education and teaching a priority. During medical school she was consistently selected to the Dean’s list, and in fellowship, she scored above the 90th percentile on her in-training gastroenterology exam. She enjoys learning and teaching, and was selected by her peers to receive the annual Fellow Teaching Award during her time at Scripps Green Hospital. She prioritizes staying up to date on the latest developments in the field.
As a physician, Dr. Seeger strives to not only provide effective medical care, but to ensure it is also high quality and patient centered. She is committed to ensuring high patient satisfaction.
Dr. Seeger’s hobbies outside of work include running, hiking, traveling, and spending time with her family.
