Kathryn Ross, MD
RETIRED, GASTROENTEROLOGY
Dr. Ross graduated Summa Cum Laude from Barry University, Miami, Florida and then with honors from the University of Miami Medical School. Her internship in Critical Care Medicine and her Internal Medicine residency were both done at University of California Davis. She then completed fellowships in Gastroenterology/Hepatology and Clinical Nutrition, also at UC Davis.
Dr. Ross worked as an emergency physician and as an associate professor at UC Davis for several years. She practiced Gastroenterology and served as Director of Endoscopy at Kaiser Permanente in Sacramento before moving to Newport Beach to open her own private practice in 1987. She has been on staff at Hoag Presbyterian Hospital since that time and served as Hoag’s Chairman of Gastroenterology division from 1995-1997.
Dr. Ross is a Fellow with the American College of Gastroenterology and a member of the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. She is past president of Women in Medicine, Orange County and is a founding member and on the Board of Directors of the Newport Beach Orange Coast Endoscopy Center. Other memberships include OCMA, CMA and American Gastroenterology Association and IAPAM (International Association for Physicians in Aesthetic Medicine).
Over the years Dr. Ross has enjoyed working with her patients to achieve better health through diet, exercise and proper medications as well as appropriate medical tests and screening.
Dr. Ross has two grown daughters and two grandsons. She resides in Orange County with her family, two horses, a dog and a cat. Outside interests include family activities, horseback riding, reading, yoga, hiking, travel, gardening and cooking.
