Dr. Kalpana Patel is a board-certified gastroenterologist with expertise in general gastroenterology, endoscopy, colonoscopy, and biliary procedures (ERCP). She completed her medical training at the University of Bombay, India, earning her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) degree, before moving to the United States in 1992. Dr. Patel then completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the Los Angeles County – University of Southern California Medical Center. She went on to complete her fellowship in Gastroenterology at the same institution.

Dr. Patel has a special interest in gastrointestinal procedures, including advanced endoscopy and colonoscopy, as well as proficiency in interpreting Small Bowel Capsule Endoscopy. She is committed to providing patient-centered care and ensures her patients receive comprehensive, evidence-based treatment options for a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions.

Before joining United Medical Doctors in 2024, Dr. Patel had an extensive 24-year career at Long Beach Gastroenterology Associates, where she practiced from 2000 to 2024. She is board-certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology and maintains active memberships with the American Gastroenterological Association, the American College of Gastroenterology, the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation, and the Indian Medical Association of Southern California.
