Dr. Farah Shirazi earned her medical degree from New York Medical College. During medical school she significantly contributed as the Clinical Director of a free health clinic in Harlem, enhancing healthcare access for underserved communities. Her leadership and dedication to community service were honored with the Excellence in Leadership and Community Service Award.

Dr. Shirazi completed her residency and gastroenterology fellowship at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco. She further honed her expertise as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Southern California (USC), where she managed complex medical conditions and excelled in teaching and mentoring residents. Dr. Shirazi is committed to improving her patients’ quality of life through a patient-centered approach. Her clinical interests encompass gastroesophageal reflux disease, celiac disease, colorectal cancer screening, irritable bowel syndrome, and gastrointestinal endoscopy.

Dr. Shirazi’s research in liver disease and gastrointestinal conditions has earned recognition in prestigious journals and major conferences. Dr. Shirazi has received notable accolades, including the American Gastroenterological Association’s Early Career Investigator Recognition Award and the Young Investigator Bursary from the European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL). Her contributions have been highlighted by leading gastrointestinal societies, including the AGA and AASLD.

Outside of her professional life, Dr. Shirazi enjoys spending time with her family, including her three sons, hiking, cooking, and photography.
